Product description

The On Balance WA-5000 Wave is a washdown digital scale for jobs where a bit of dust or damp is part of the deal. It has IP65 washdown protection, a backlit LCD and a supplied cover/tray, so it is a more serious bit of kit than a pocket scale.

You can switch between three weighing ranges: up to 1000g in 0.1g steps, 3000g in 0.5g steps, or 5000g in 1g steps. It also reads in grams, millilitres, pounds, ounces and fluid ounces. Tare, calibration, checkweighing and counting functions are all built in.

The platform measures 120 x 128mm, with a 73 x 27mm display. Two AA batteries, a small Phillips-head screwdriver and a user guide are included. A useful choice when you need a decent capacity scale that is not precious about its surroundings.

This is for someone who has outgrown a little pocket scale and wants proper capacity without losing the finer 0.1g option at the lower range. The IP65 washdown protection is the sensible bit here: dust and the odd splash happen. The cover doubles as a tray, which saves you hunting round for something suitable when you are trying to weigh small bits.
