Product description

A small hand-carved soapstone statuette showing a seated Thai Buddha with the Abhaya Mudra hand gesture. It measures 99mm long, 75mm wide and 35mm deep, so it sits neatly on a shelf, desk or little home altar without taking over the place.

The useful thing to know is that soapstone is naturally variable. Yours may be a pale greenish-grey or a warmer pink, and it may not match the photo exactly. That is part of buying a carved stone piece rather than a factory-coloured ornament.

At 177g, it has enough weight to feel properly solid for its size. A straightforward small Buddha figure for anyone who likes Thai-style carvings and doesn’t need everything to be identical.

This is a proper little carved piece, not a huge statue pretending to be one. The 99mm length makes it easy to find a spot for, and the soapstone colours can run from greenish-grey to warm pink. Worth knowing before it arrives: the colour is naturally variable, so picking one by the photo alone is a bit optimistic.
