A large square jali oil burner with a sun design cut through the sides. It is available in Burnt Umber, Plum, Black, Blue and Green, so you can go dark and understated or pick one with a bit more colour.

Set it out with your usual fragrance oil and water for a proper bit of home scent, rather than hiding the burner away between uses. The pierced jali pattern is the main feature here, giving the piece some detail even before there is a candle lit underneath.

These have a proper solid-looking square shape and the sun cut-out does the talking, so they are not for people after plain minimal décor. I like the Burnt Umber and Plum versions, but the Black one is the safe bet if you already have plenty going on around it. Just keep the water topped up while the candle is burning.
