Product description
A large hand-finished batik featuring Shiva seated in the lotus posture. The image includes the snake necklace, trident fork, drum and tiger skin, so there is plenty going on beyond the central figure.
At 760 x 1220mm, it has enough presence to cover a decent section of wall rather than disappearing behind a door. It suits a bedroom, meditation corner, studio or the part of the living room where the incense burner has already claimed territory.
The printing uses hand-printing techniques in India, so colours and details will vary from the photos. You may also see the odd bit of double printing. That is part of the hand-finished nature of these batiks, not a reason to expect every one to look factory-identical.
A properly bold piece of hippy homeware for anyone who likes Shiva imagery without wanting a tiny, timid print.
Paul says
This is a proper big batik, not a little postcard-sized Shiva print. The lotus pose is the centrepiece, but the snake necklace, trident, drum and tiger skin give you plenty to look at. As these are hand finished, colours can wander a bit and occasional double printing happens. Frankly, that is preferable to every one looking exactly like it came off an office printer.
